How to use the Career Caravan:
Build your profile; the more detailed your profile, the more searchable you become for networking. Don’t forget to save as you go!
In the “People” tab, you’ll find all your Herzl friends in one convenient place. Use the filters to search for someone specific, from years on staff to opportunities offered and everything in between.
The “Live Feed” is a great place to post comments for the whole caravan to see. Do you have specific topic you want to hear from your Herzl friends on AND be able to easily reference it in the future? Post is under the “Discussions” tab and chat away! This is also a great place to look for any current resource guides we have available.
Create a “Group” to network with a specific group of people. Send the admin a direct message with your group request and we’ll get it going.
Post your “Opportunities.” Job openings, internships (paid + unpaid), contract work – you can post it all to your Herzl network and keep it in the family.

Herzl Camp created the Herzl Career Caravan as a free, online platform for career advice, networking, and mentorship for the Herzl community. Summer staff can search the network and find professionals connected to Herzl (e.g. camp alumni) willing to share career advice, schedule informational interviews, and make important career connections. Professionals can sign up to give back to current summer staff and seek out fellow professionals on the platform for advice that helps them in their own career.
Herzl’s Career Caravan is private and only accessible to those connected to the Herzl community. All of the professionals on the platform have agreed to help summer staff and fellow professionals with career advice making it a warmer and more responsive environment for networking, which is especially important for those who are new and unfamiliar with the practice, like our summer staff.
Are you a camper alum? The caravan is for you! Are you a staff alum? The caravan is for you! Are you a camper parent? The caravan is for you! Are you a summer staff parent? The caravan is for you! The career caravan is for anyone who loves Herzl and would love a place to connect with others who love Herzl as well.
You will build a profile page, including information about yourself, your camp connection, your profession, etc. You will also have an opportunity to indicate the types of professional experience you are able to offer (from informational interviews to internships and everything in between).
