Selection Process (Summer 2027)

Step 1 – Interested high school juniors register for the Ozo program. Registrations must be complete by November 6, 2026. No late enrollments will be accepted.
Step 2 – Over the course of the school year, Ozo applicants complete and submit the entry requirements.
Step 3 – Ozo applicants who successfully complete the required criteria will earn entry to the program. If there are more qualified applicants than there are spaces available in a given session, a lottery will be held for the available spaces.

Entry Requirements

Ozrim must meet the following criteria to qualify for the Ozo Program. Hours toward the requirements below may be counted beginning June 1, 2026:

  • Register for the Ozo program by the deadline (November 6, 2026).
  • Complete an interview with a Herzl Camp staff or volunteer.
  • Submit a letter of recommendation.
  • Submit personal essays.
  • Complete 25 hours of group childcare experience.
  • Complete 50 volunteer/work experience hours.
  • Participate in an ongoing Jewish program/educational experience.
  • Volunteer at a Herzl Camp event, either in person or Zoom.
  • Demonstrate exemplary behavior and maturity during past camp summers..

Individuals who complete and graduate from the Ozo program will earn 350 volunteer hours.
