Session 3 – With 5 days left: Ceramics!

Hi Herzl Family!

It’s gonna be a quick one tonight, folks, I’m coming in kinda late. Need to be up early for some boat driving but I wanted to give you a little bit of a highlight of the day.

Enzo and I were strolling around Camp during Chug Bet and we ventured into the ceramics building which, for you old Herzl loyalists, is the original Amanut building… now transformed into a ceramics building with four wheels, a modeling area, another station with all those little tools that I have no idea what they do, you know…they’re those things that have the diamond wire on the end and they make all the cool lines. This is me showing you what little artistic ability I actually have.

Though walking into that ceramics building today, I was impressed with a number of things, most notably how active the Chug was, how engaged and talented the campers are, and how dedicated patient and knowledgeable our staff is. I saw some kids on the Wheels making bowls, a couple kids at the modeling table making…something, and there was a camper on the finishing table painting what looked to be a Sedar plate, getting it prepped to be fired in the kiln.

There’s so much to do here. I wish I could go back and start over because truly the best job at Camp is being a camper. Everything is designed for you to have fun and be engaged.

OK, gotta hit the sack, but…

All is well, safely rest.

Thank you for sending your kid to Herzl Camp.
